Cavity barriers — FIRAS certified
Open-state and closed-state cavity barriers in rainscreen facades and external walls, installed to the tested system at every floor line and compartment line. FIRAS certified (Certificate No. JA8184).
What is included
Survey of the cavity and the tested system, installation at every floor line and compartment line, stage-by-stage photos, daily reports, internal inspection and a FIRAS Certificate of Conformity at sign-off.

Fire stopping around pipes, cables, ducts and service penetrations through fire-rated walls and floors, with intumescent sealants, collars, wraps and boards from tested systems. FIRAS certified (Certificate No. JA8184).
What is included
Each penetration sealed to the tested detail for its service and substrate, labelled, photographed and recorded, with a FIRAS Certificate of Conformity at sign-off.

Sealing the joints between walls, floors and the facade, and the slab edge on high-rise buildings, so fire and smoke cannot pass between floors.

Joints and slab edges sealed with tested products, sized to the gap and movement, photographed and inspected before sign-off.

Fire barriers behind cladding and in facade build-ups on high-rise residential and commercial buildings, working alongside the facade contractor's sequence.

Barriers installed in step with the rails, insulation and cladding, so each floor is closed before the next layer goes on.

Visual inspection, identifying non-compliant installations, removing them and installing tested systems in line with Approved Document B and the Building Safety Act.

We record what is there, remove what does not match a tested system and install a tested system in its place, with photos before and after.

What is your FIRAS certification?
Top Window Fixing holds FIRAS Certificate No. JA8184, issued by Warringtonfire, for the installation of cavity barriers and penetration sealing; it is valid to 22 July 2031.
What do we receive at the end?
Photos of every stage, daily reports during the works, our internal inspection before sign-off, and for FIRAS-certified scopes a FIRAS Certificate of Conformity.
Which areas do you cover?
The whole UK — we are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, and work on site wherever the project is.
Why are there no prices on the site?
Every project is priced from its drawings and specification — send them and we will quote.
Do you supply the materials?
Yes — we buy directly from the manufacturers and install tested systems; on FIRAS-certified work we supply and install.
How big is your team?
5 to 15 installers per project, NVQ Level 2/3, with site supervisors and FIRAS-accredited supervisors.
Do you carry out remedial works?
Yes — we inspect, identify non-compliant installations, remove them and install tested systems in line with Approved Document B and the Building Safety Act.
Do you take urgent call-outs?
